USING COMICS IN THE CLASSROOM

LAST DAY OF LTUE

Today is the last day of theย Life, the Universe and Everythingย (sniff, sniff) symposium on science fiction and fantasy, here in Provo, Utah. These last two days have been an absolute joy for me, as I’ve gotten to meet with so many writers, illustrators, and lovers of great books. The atmosphere at LTUE is overwhelmingly positive and I’ve filled up several sketchbook pages with notes from presentations, and with contact information for editors, agents, authors and illustrators. What a weekend!

USING COMICS IN CLASS

At 10am I’ll be joining Drew Robbins (Dragon’s Keep comics), Bill Galvin (illustrator for Archie and Bongo comics), andย Robert St. Jacques to talk about the place of comics in the classroom and how to use them. The panel is geared toward educators who want to learn more about the place of comics in school. You can find my handout on a quick look at using comics in the classroom, and a handful of book and internet sources for educators on using comics with their students.
