TIME IS A CHOICE

Instead of saying โ€œI donโ€™t have timeโ€ try saying โ€œitโ€™s not a priority,โ€ and see how that feels. Often, thatโ€™s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just donโ€™t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: โ€œIโ€™m not going to edit your rรฉsumรฉ, sweetie, because itโ€™s not a priority.โ€ โ€œI donโ€™t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.โ€ If these phrases donโ€™t sit well, thatโ€™s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we donโ€™t like how weโ€™re spending an hour, we can choose differently.
