INTERVIEW WITH MISTER ROGERS
Thanks to fellow comics-maker, Dave Scheidt, I spent yesterday working while listening to a nine-part interview with Fred Rogers (AKA Mister Rogers). This interview touches on so many of my loves in this world, and is an incredible glimpse into the heart and mind of a very kind and intelligent man. It was nothing less than inspiring to listen to Fred talk about photography, education, television, and loving what you do.
HIGHLIGHTS
“There are so many ways of saying who we are and how we feel. Ways that don’t hurt anybody.” – Mister Rogers
“The best teacher in the world is somebody who loves what he or she does, and just loves it in front of you.” – Mister Rogers (05:40)
“Until television became such a tool for selling it was a fabulous medium for education.” – Mister Rogers (16:55)

MORE WISDOM
“How many clothes can you wear? How many cars can you drive? How big of a shelter do you really need? Some people get so caught up in the trappings of life. I feel that they lose what is real. My desire is to help children realize that deep and simple are far, far more important than shallow and complicated and fancy.” – Mister Rogers (09:48)
“It’s a blessing to pass on something that you love to somebody else. There isn’t any better gift.” – Mister Rogers (25:20)
Do yourself a favor and watch one of these video interviews from beginning to end, and then take the next step and share the link. We could use some more people like Fred Rogers these days.
