PICASSO PAINTING

I’m currently reading one of the many biographies written about the artist Pablo Picasso. I’ve had a love/hate relationship with his life and work ever since I first saw his pictures as a boy, and the last decade has drawn me closer and closer to his works. It was amazing seeing some of his original paintings in New York a few years ago, and it’s fascinating to have come across these video recordings of Picasso painting.

You could only hate Picasso because it seems he never really had to grow up! The current of creative freedom still runs free. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, TAM! I love his work much more now. A lot of people think that he regressed, after starting with “lifelike” paintings, and then “descending” into cubism, but it’s obvious that he progressed to that point. He saw the world the way he was taught, and then tapped into the way that he saw the world, and pursued it. That’s a powerful thing to do, and not many people understand it.

He followed his own bliss! Aren’t these videos great? I think it shows how clever he was—another facet of Picasso that is largely ignored.
