MICROVOLUNTEERING

Sparked.comย has a very interesting approach to volunteering. They call it ‘microvolunteering’, where they provide several ways that an individual can help in as little as a few minutes, to as long as an hour, or several days. Once you sign up for an account and select which global/nonprofit issues interest you (animals, education, environment, poverty, etc), Spark asks you to select your skills (accounting, blogging, design, product development, research, etc). From that point, Spark will issue challenges, where you put your skills to use and submit your service, whatever it may be. When the pool of submissions closes, the community decides which submissions work best for the project, and it moves forward.
