Your Dreams My Nightmares is a podcast hosted by artist Sam Weberย featuring conversations with artists, illustrators and designers.
I’ve listened to episodes covering topics as varied as the business of illustration, the pros and cons of art school, children’s book illustration, the New York Times, being precious about your creations, Canadians and New Yorkers, animation, painting, developing a personal style, and more.ย
Some of my favorite episodes include discussions with printmaker Mike Perry, illustrator Jillian Tamaki (AKA Sam’s wife), illustrator Josh Cochran, illustrator Chris Neal, designer Jessica Hische, and illustrators Kali Ciesemier and Sam Bosma.ย
TRUE STORIES ABOUT THE ART WORLD
Episode 055, however, is a little bit different. In this episode there’s no Sam. There’s no interview. Our host is artist Marshall Arisman, who walks us through half an hour of True Stories About the Art World. “They are stories about the artist, the spectator, and the creation of art,” says Marshall. They are, but they are so much more. These stories are bizarre. Some are a bit crass, while others are shocking or even disturbing. It’s not for the faint of heart.ย
If you’re looking for a handful of good art stories, wrap your ears around this:
